The UAE is one of the world leaders when it comes to building and developing new tourist attractions, and theme parks and waterparks are no exception. Across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there are a huge number of ambitious projects coming up, so all fast-ride and waterslide fans should keep their ears open for any news.
Dubai is preparing a mega-development for opening in 2020: Dubailand. Spanning six zones, its Themed Leisure and Vacation World will be home to Six Flags, DreamWorks, Legoland, Fantasia, Universal Studios and Marvel Superheroes. Almost double the size of Disney World in America, this theme park will be a huge amount of fun! Dubai also has a waterpark lined up, the creation of which has been inspired by ‘Avatar’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. You’ll be able to swim, dive and snorkel in an especially made underwater playground.
Abu Dhabi is soon to welcome Adventure World Abu Dhabi to its collection of theme parks and waterparks. With over 25 rides on five themed islands, visitors will have access to a waterpark, entertainment area, super-coasters and wave pools, as well boat cruises, restaurants, shops and clubs.
In addition to its football-mad sports stadiums, Abu Dhabi is also planning to create a theme park based around Spanish football team, Real Madrid. Having reportedly secured rights to the team’s stadium, Santiago Bernabeu, the state is also planning to install a theme park around the club and stadium.
With new developments springing up all over the emirate, new attractions are always in the pipes!
