The first universal museum in the Arab world, the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi will be a momentous occasion. Planned for 2015, expectant visitors are already waiting to be allowed entry.
Thanks to an agreement between the French Government and that of Abu Dhabi, the Louvre Abu Dhabi will showcase a wide variety of art and historical artefacts. Spanning different countries, cultures and timespans, these significant objects will represent universal themes and influences that transcend boundaries and history.
As well as its own outstanding collection of permanent artefacts and objects, and touring collections, the Louvre Abu Dhabi will also have several exhibitions on loan from eminent French museums, such as the Musée du Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Centre Pompidou.
Combining east and west and past and present, this museum will be an impressive, must-see attraction for any visitor to Abu Dhabi.
